Coming up next on News@tangent_np...

Lost contact with the PC world? Don't worry...I have some more to tell you! News to be told includes Nvidia new GPUs, first system manufacturer to use Nvidia nForce4 SLI Intel Edition chipset, ATI X1000 series GPUs and Intel latest i975 chipset to support Nvidia SLI technology and ATI Cross-Fire and more...

First...Nvidia latest GPUs...

GeForce 7 series GPUs - 7800GTX and 7800GT were released two months ago worldwide. Aim of this is to fight against ATI's R400 series GPUs, mainly X300 to X800 GPUs. Below is the basic specification of the GeForce 7 series GPU:

- Microsoft DirectX 9.0C Shader Model 3.0
- Pixel and Vertex Shader 2.0 + OpenGL 2.0
- highest RAM given: 512MB by ASUS
- 16 pixels per clock
- core speed: approx. 500MHz
- memory speed: approx. 1200MHz

According to some people who used or tested this GPU, they say it's good to use and frame rate up to about 190 fps [frames per second]. Go visit this website: http://www.tomshardware.com or http://www.nvidia.com for more information.

Oo...I forgot! Now in October, Nvidia has also released its GeForce 7 mobile series GPU - GeForce Go 7800GTX. Want to have it? Visit Dell's website to order it - exclusive in its XPS notebook series. Cost about USD2000++.

What's the other thing about Dell? Do you know? Oo...its XPS Desktop series! Dell is now the first system manufacturer to use nForce4 SLI Intel Edition chipset. Wow! Isn't it wonderful? Look out for XPS 600. It's good - I haven't try to get one yet for Singapore isn't selling this version yet. Sir, would you like to order a XPS 600 PC from Dell? If so, please do visit us at http://www.dell.com for more information.

ATI-busters? Ready to move one level up with ATI X1000 series GPUs. Aim of this is to fight against Nvidia GeForce 7 series...but will be a short one for Nvidia is coming out soon with its GeForce 7800Ultra. Below is some of the specifications of ATI X1000 series GPUs:

- Microsoft DirectX 9.0C Shader Model 3.0

- Core speed: 600++MHz

- Memory speed: 1300+ MHz

This series of GPU is Cross-Fire ready. This can only be used on Cross-Fire ready Motherboard. For more information, please feel free to check in to http://www.ati.com or http://www.tomshardware.com

As reported by Intel, it's going to develop a new PC chipset named i975. Aim of this is to fight against ATI's Xpress 200 Cross-Fire and Nvidia's nForce4 SLI Intel Edition. One most important advantage of having i975 chipset on your motherboard is that it can support ATI's Cross-Fire and Nvidia's SLI on the same board. In other words, if you are planning to move from Cross-Fire to SLI, you need not buy a new motherboard. What a economical way! Estimated year to be released in H1 2006.

Ready for the more advanced Windows XP? Get it next year at all PC retail stores! This new Windows developed by Microsoft is named Windows Vista - previously codenamed as Longhorn. This new operating system [OS] is intregrated with more advanced security patches and new applications are installed. Internet Explorer 7.0 is intregrated into Vista - aim to fight against FireFox Internet Browser. Well...I'm still not very clear to this OS and if you can, visit this website: http://www.microsoft.com

Creative Labs - a Multi-National Cooperation (MNC) from Singapore had developed its new and powerful sound card - Xtreme Fatalty (X-Fi). What so special about this card is that it's released in four versions to meet different budgets. Now on sales worldwide. Price ranging from SGD250 to SGD490. More information, log on to http://www.soundblaster.com/products/x-fi/technology/

That's all folks! Sorry for I couldn't tell much of each news. I'll do my best next time.
