Going to setup your own PC soon? Humm... here's some advice for you.
1. Calculate or plan your budget. Also include what you intend to use this PC for.
2. Once planned everything, walk around computer stores and check out the price. Some price you thought are cheap, but wait a minute, look out for the word "Bundled price" or any other symbols, which means you need to pay this price together with some other components (not included in the price - it's a discounted price). In this case, you have to ask the tender what is the bundle given. While walking and searching, write down the prices and the shop name. Do not buy anything yet as this walk allows you to do some research or preparatory works.
3. If still not convinced, do online research. Here, I recommend you this website: http://www.vr-zone.com - built for USA and Singapore only. But other countries can also try this as there's a lot of reviews you can choose to read. At least you are at ease before you buy wrong things. How about this website: http://www.hardwarezone.com - rather a good website too. Another...well known international website: http://www.tomshardware.com - I like this too.
4. Once you have decided what to buy or after some amendments, you can start your shopping at anytime and anywhere. If still confused, you can always talk to me via the comment session.
In this whole story...story? Hay! I'm not reading or telling a story. S.T.U.P.I.D.! Well...anyway in this whole session (in parts), I'll be telling you how to select and buy PC components at ease...rather.
Part 1: How to select CPU and buy them - brain of all the brains
Part 2: How to select Motherboard - mother of all PC components!
Part 3: All about Graphic cards and sound cards - best partners of all partners!
Part 4: Selecting printers, monitors and speakers including the keyboard and mouse - 5 senses of your PC!
Part 5: Selecting Hard-disk and CD-ROM/RW or DVD-ROM/RW - brainy parts!
Part 6: Selecting operating systems - juices of the brain!
