What if ...

What if you don't want to DIY your future PC? Don't worry! We have PC system manufacturers such as Dell, Sony, Acer, Hewlett Packard, Compaq, IBM etc. They will configure the PC for you - I mean some are fixed and they don't have upgrading package. If you are going for system manufacturers, I recommend IBM for system stability, Sony and Acer for gaming, and the rest for home entertainment and others. I find more will go for Dell and IBM for it's cheap. But people who are gamers or 3D designers, sorry to say they have to fork out more $$. Sony will be good.

I want mobility! M.O.B.I.L.I.T.Y, you know!!! Sure...go for desktop replacement notebooks (or laptops for some called). They are a lot of notebooks sold around the world. Dell, ASUS, IBM, HP, Compaq, Acer, Sony etc. Just like system manufacturers (desktop), they will also provide upgrading package (for some). I support Sony for desktop replacement. The rest...er...50:50. Anything will do! These recommendations are based on my judgement.

Desktop replacement ... I recommend laptops running on Intel Centrino Mobile Technology (Pentium M) -- running at speed more than or equal to 1.73 GHz. Hay! That speed is also running on my IBM mobile PC! Great! Why Pentium M? L2 cache is high (2MB) ... use less power ... Less heat produced (unless you want your laptop to melt!). There are also other mobile processors running in different laptops. Others like Pentium 4-M, Celeron M, Pentium 4 etc. These processors will require you to always have the power adapter on every time you use.

It's your choice. I will always prefer DIY PCs. Why? I can upgrade my component easily.
