Today, I just bought myself a new processor and new motherboard. This is used to replace the processor and motherboard i had for at least a year. I bought Core2 Duo E4500 (2.2GHz) and ASUS P5PE-VM (865G-based). Sounds like I bought the worst combo right? Actually, u r half-right. I had tot of to buy E6320 with G965 mobo. However, this may need me to buy new set of PSU and memory. I tot why not keep some of my current components, so i instead bought the set i bought. Current, I faced some problems with it. The fans managed to spin only for a few seconds, barely 2 seconds. I checked the wirings a lot of times, but still could not think, but to think that it could be cos' of my PSU. My PSU is branded SilverStone at 400W supply. I did some online calculation based on my rig specs, to find out that it consumes around 318W. I went to a forum to ask for help. A person said that I cannot always think that 400W means it will provide a constant 400W. A slight or big (sometimes) deviation may occur. Sounds like she suggested me to get a more higher-rated PSU. I told her to let me to check the wirings again before I get a new PSU.
So sad to see that my computers are spoiling constantly. I spent a lot of $$ on repairs. I wasted some of my precious time on it. My exam is coming now. I told myself not to think about it always. This may affect my studies and results. Also, I'm sorry to my parents that I borrowed a large sum of $$ for this cuase. I'm feeling a bit guilty. I hope I can repay them more. Thanks, Mum and Dad. I'm really a bad child of urs.
However, really proud that I finally get to feel the power of dual-core processor. I will also be able to do more multi-threaded programs such as movie making and 3D visualisation program for my Biotech course at home.
